More than £4,000 was raised for charity at the showpiece annual dinners of two CISI branches
The Jersey branch event was held at L’Horizon Hotel, St Brelade and a collection among the 180 guests brought in £2,875 for the
Teenage Cancer Trust. Beth Bartlam, regional fundraiser for the Trust, was among four speakers at the dinner.
Guest speaker was Jon Culshaw, star of TV’s Impression Show and Dead Ringers while Lydia Romero, CISI Director of Learning and Paul Clifford, Chartered FCSI, President of the Jersey branch provided updates about the Institute. They are shown in the photo above left.
Events sponsors were: RBC Wealth Management (gold), BNP Paribas Securities Services (silver) and Rathbone Investment Management International, Kames Capital and Pershing. (bronze). Guests included Senator Ian Gorst, Chief Minister of Jersey.
The East Midlands & Lincoln branch held its dinner at Devonshire Place, Leicester, attracting 77 guests.
For a second successive year, a collection took place at the dinner in aid of
Rainbows children’s hospice in Loughborough, raising £1,157, including Gift Aid.
Guest speaker was BBC business presenter Declan Curry, shown in the picture above right, who provided a humorous presentation on the economy.
Branch President Jonathan Wernick, Chartered MCSI and Edward Brunel-Cohen, Chartered MCSI, CISI Global Director of Finance & IT, addressed guests, highlighting the year’s achievements for the CISI both regionally and nationally, and welcoming a renewed fusion with other professional bodies in their shared objectives with the Institute.
Attendees included senior representatives from the Chartered Institute for Taxation, the
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the Chartered Insurance Institute and the local chamber of commerce.
