Alderman Alan Yarrow, Chartered FCSI(Hon), The Lord Mayor and CISI Chairman, is inviting firms to get involved in City Giving Day in one or a combination of three ways.
They are by:
- Making a donation either exclusively to the Lord Mayor’s own charities or additionally to a selected worthy cause
- Showcasing your charity and community work, such as by promoting it in foyers or reception areas and holding fun activities
- Staging a fundraising event, for example a dress down day, cake sale, rowing challenge or quiz.
The CISI is among a number of City-based organisations that have signed up as partners for the event.
The Lord Mayor said: “As a dedicated ambassador for the City, my job is to support and promote the City as the world leader in international finance and business services. However, I also want to promote and celebrate giving in all its forms and highlight the immense outreach and ways in which lives are transformed by the generosity of the City, especially through its charitable and community work.
“City Giving Day will be a moment where I will champion companies and organisations across and connected with the City, regardless of their size or sector, for the good that they do.”
Every organisation registering to take part will be asked to share stories about the charities and communities that mean most to them. These will be promoted through the Lord Mayor’s Appeal media channels and through their partnership with City AM until October.
Firms that pledge their support before 31 July 2015 will be entered into a draw with the opportunity to have the Lord Mayor visit their offices on City Giving Day.
