They have each won a CISI Educational Trust Award after being nominated by their own university, receiving a £2,500 prize to support them as they progress into a career in the financial services industry.
Each winner was invited to the CISI’s head office in London to participate in an interview panel with the Educational Trust for the opportunity to win an additional prize. As a result, three of the students received extra funding.
The interview topics for discussion were:
'If the structure proposed in Sir Richard Lambert`s paper had been in place ten years ago, would it have helped avert the banking crisis?'
'The Chancellor of the Exchequer gave his Budget to Parliament on 19 March 2014. What did you feel were the most interesting points?
One award winner, Matthew Marshall, MSc Finance and Investment student at University of Exeter said: “Winning this award validates my decision to continue in education and gives me confidence that I have chosen correctly in persisting with my efforts to follow this career.”

The CISI accredits a select group of 12 universities as Centres of Excellence for offering leadership in academic education on financial markets.
