Over half of CISI student members not aware of free benefits

A survey conducted by the CISI has highlighted that many student members are missing out on the free benefits available to them.

In a recent survey of CISI student members, over half of respondents claimed they were not aware of the benefits available to them as part of their student membership of the Institute.

The CISI collected over 600 responses to their student survey, looking to assess whether candidates for CISI exams found the free membership which they get useful.

Students undertaking a CISI examination are entitled to a minimum of one year’s free membership of the Institute – giving them access to resources designed to support and supplement their study.

As well as this, membership gives access to a range of networking, development and progression opportunities. Student members of the CISI can book onto events, join an exclusive LinkedIn group and network with members. They can also access insight through a range of benefits including the acclaimed industry magazine, the Review.

Whilst many student members were not aware of their benefits, those who were aware valued the resources available, with almost half of respondents rating features such as free attendance at events as 'Excellent'.

Additionally, 68% of respondents indicated that they see reading publications as a key way for them to develop their career. This highlights the value that student members see in a publication like the Review – as a way to develop knowledge that gives them the edge in their career progression.

Student members can access their benefits through their online portal MyCISI. Log in today using your email address and password.
