She cycled 250 miles from London to the French capital over three days as part of a group ride in aid of lifeboat charity the RNLI.
Sara, Relationship Manager for Bestinvest in Mayfair, London, said: “I had not done much long-distance cycling before the trip, I think 50 miles was the furthest I had ridden. Unsurprisingly, it was hard work and the heat did not help. The more experienced cyclists amongst us were a great support and there was a huge sense of achievement when we finished.”
Together with a friend, Georgina Hall, she has raised around £4,000 for the RNLI - double the target figure - through the cycle ride and a wine tasting event attended by around 130 people.
Marathon effortThe bike ride followed on from Sara running the London Marathon in April – her first attempt at the 26-mile distance. She clocked 3hr 32min and raised £6,000 for Intercountry, an adoption agency.
She says: “'I had considered running a marathon for several years, but never quite found the will or the way. However, when I was offered the chance to run for an adoption charity, I knew that I had to take part; it is a cause extremely close to my heart.”
Sara’s running and cycling exploits have been fuelled by her desire for a “different type of challenge” following an intense period of study to successfully achieve the CISI Chartered Wealth Manager qualification.
She has also enjoyed the distinction this year of being included by industry publication Wealth Manager in its list of 30 rising stars in wealth management aged under 30.
