CISI East Anglia branch appoints Hargreave Hale manager as new President

Richard Larner Chartered FCSI, head of investment manager Hargreave Hale in Norwich, has been appointed President of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) East Anglia branch.

Having graduated in Law from Exeter University Richard started his private client stockbroking career in the City of London with Grieveson Grant in 1984. He took the opportunity to return to his native Norwich the following year and became Managing Director of Norwich & Peterborough Building Society's stockbroking subsidiary Waters Lunniss in 1990 at the age of just 29. He was subsequently one of the three founding partners of Hill Osborne's Norwich office in 1997 which was later acquired by Brewin Dolphin where he also served as Head of Office between 2007 and its closure in January 2015. He was appointed Branch Manager of the new Norwich office of Hargreave Hale in August 2015.

Richard specialises in managing Advisory and Discretionary portfolios for private individuals, trusts, charities and pension funds and has also been a regular contributor to BBC Radio Norfolk on business matters throughout the past 25 years.

He became a Member of the Stock Exchange in 1986 and is a CISI Chartered Fellow.

The CISI East Anglia branch has 400 members and the branch committee is responsible for contributing to a lively annual programme of continuing professional development events. The first CISI East Anglia branch event of the New Year is at lunch time on Thursday 4th February 2016 at the National Skills Academy in Norwich. The event will feature Christopher Dixon, Associate, of Blackrock who will give an update on Commodities, while Trevor Neil, Director, Beta Group will present on Behavioural Economics
