Kate Nathoo Chartered FCSI, Client Director at Thesis Asset Management plc has been appointed President of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) Southern branch.
Kate has worked in the investment management industry since graduating from London University. She is currently responsible for discretionary investment management for individuals and charities at Thesis and is a Chartered Fellow of CISI.
Ms Nathoo said: “It is a real privilege to have been appointed to this role within the CISI.
The regional committee work tirelessly to provide quality CPD events for over 700 members and to also create opportunities for students as we look to attract and retain the region’s brightest talents.
“I would also like to congratulate my predecessor James Stewart Smith for his work in furthering the CISI’s presence within the Southern region. He oversaw the region as President from inception to the present and I look forward to continuing his excellent work.”

Outside work Kate is a volunteer Samaritan at her local Guildford Branch. She is also a trustee of the Guildford Shakespeare Company reflecting a love of theatre and a commitment to working with young people.
The CISI Southern branch committee branch committee is responsible for contributing to a lively annual programme of continuing professional development events. Events in the southern region over the last year have included hosting a EU Referendum debate in mid-June with speakers Keith Churchouse and Jerome Lussan.
Thesis Asset Management also continues to promote its work with schools hosting students who are on the CISI summer education project. This year the firm hosted students from Wellington and Royal Grammar School Guildford who worked on a project looking at how Brexit could impact on financial services businesses.
The next CISI Southern branch event will be held on 16 November.
