The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) receives an award this week from the Philippine Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) in recognition of its work in the area of ant-money laundering learning for the Philippine financial services profession.

The SEC virtual awards event will be live streamed on Facebook and Zoom on 13 November 1-3pm during the annual Investor Protection Week campaign, which raises awareness of Filipino’s financial rights and responsibilities, aiming to counter the increase in investment scams.

The CISI officially announced in May this year the launch of its e-learning professional assessment module to support the Philippines’ compliance with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF) requirements.

In his awards ceremony invitation to CISI, Emilio B Aquino, Chairperson of the Philippine SEC noted the “invaluable support” CISI had provided to the SEC this year for the development of its anti-money laundering professional assessment module.

Simon Culhane Chartered FCSI, CISI CEO said: “We are delighted to receive this award from the SEC and thank Mr Aquino for his kind comments.”

Andrella Guzman-Sandejas, Regional Head, CISI Asia Pacific said: “We look forward to continuing to work with both the SEC and AMLC to support their commitment to the highest professional learning standards in challenging money laundering and terrorist financing.”
