Welcome to the CISI

We are the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), the leading global professional body for financial services professionals.

We support practitioners, like you, in the local financial services sector in through our National Advisory Council (NAC) in Switzerland.

The council play a vital role in advising the Institute on national education, continuing professional development (CPD) requirements, events and membership to ensure they meet the needs of our local members and financial community.

The CISI has been dedicated to professionalism since we emerged from the London Stock Exchange in 1992. In October 2009, Her Majesty the Queen signed a Royal Charter formally awarding us our Chartered status, giving the CISI the same prestige as other Chartered professional bodies, such as accountants, lawyers, and bankers.

Candidates can book exams online and sit exams at our local computer-based test (CBT) centre in Zurich.

Recertifying with CISI membership for Certified Wealth Manager Advisor (CWMA) holders

The Swiss Association for Quality (SAQ) recognises 25 of CISI’s e-learning Professional Refreshers modules as official recertification measures for the Certified Wealth Management Advisor CWMA Programme. Each module is given a special code. Completing all 25 modules will allow you to meet the 24 hours required by the SAQ.

The CWMA certificate is valid for 3 years. The certificate holders need to continue their professional development and submit evidence that they completed 24 hours of recognised training (CISI e -learning modules the total time of which adds up to 24 hours).

The training must be completed during the three-year validity of the certificate. In the 24 hours, the candidates cover technical skills and code of conduct elements.

Please note that though you have 3 years to submit your CPD proof to the SAQ, the CISI give you access to the Professional Refreshers for 1 year unless you continue (renew) your membership.

Apply for a CISI Membership

If you hold the Certified Wealth Management Adviser Qualification (CWMA), you can apply to join us at Associate Level, a higher grade of membership. Affiliate membership is also available with no requirements.
