Membership Renewals
  • How can I pay?
    • Online: Securely renew your membership by card through our payment system
    • Direct Debit: Set-up a Personal Direct Debit here or to set up a Direct Debit using a business account, please complete our Direct Debit Mandate form attached here. Once completed, please email a scanned copy to us at directdebit@cisi.org. Confirmation will be sent to you once approved.
    • By Phone: Contact our Customer Support Team at +44 (0) 207 645 0777.
    • Bank Transfer: Details available at www.cisi.org/renew
  • With a concessionary rate: The CISI offers a range of concessionary fees for members renewing their annual subscriptions. These are available to any non-Student member who, at the time of renewal, is either:
    1. On maternity/parental leave
    2. Unemployed
    3. Retired
    To apply for a concession, please complete the following request form .
  • If your membership lapsed within the last 3 years, please complete the reinstatement form attached here and email to Applications@cisi.org.
  • If your membership has been lapsed within the current subscription year, please contact our membership team by sending an email to yourmembership@cisi.org.
Should you decide that you wish to resign your CISI membership, please contact our membership team by sending an email to yourmembership@cisi.org. If you could please include any reason for your decision to end your membership that would be helpful.

For any members wishing to resign who pay their subscription by Direct Debit, please email directdebit@cisi.org to cancel. Additionally, you should also contact your bank to cancel the instruction as well.
If you previously held CISI membership and it has since lapsed due to non payment of subscription or you resigned within the last 3 years, please complete the reinstatement form attached here and email to Applications@cisi.org.
Direct Debit
  • Set-up a Personal Direct Debit: Click on the link below to set up a new personal direct debit: here.
  • Set-up a Business Direct Debit: to set up a Direct Debit using a business account, please request a Direct Debit Mandate form by emailing DirectDebit@cisi.org. Once completed, please email a scanned copy to us. We will confirm when this has been approved and set up.
  • Confirmation: After successful set-up, you will receive a confirmation email with the details of your direct debit arrangement. Please keep this email for your records.
  • Further Assistance: If you encounter any issues or have questions during the setup process, feel free to contact our support team at DirectDebit@cisi.org.
Email directdebit@cisi.org to cancel your Direct Debit. Please ensure that you cancel the instruction with your ban as well.

Firm Billing
Firms who have a number of CISI members within their ranks and wish to sponsor their CISI membership subscriptions can do by creating a membership billing portal. This enables the firm to have control over their members and who they pay for. You can find further information on how the firm membership portal works here.
  • To set up a firm membership portal you will need to hold an invoice account with CISI. If you do not currently have an account with CISI please contact our finance team by emailing finance@cisi.org who will advise you of the process to set up the account.
  • Upon confirmation of your account set up, please contact our Firm Billing team by emailing firmbilling@cisi.org where a representative will advise you of the next step.
Should you encounter any technical problems with your portal, please email firmbilling@cisi.org with a description of the problem you are facing and please include a screenshot where possible of any error message. This will help our IT team identify and deal with your issue as soon as possible.
To add any additional CISI members within the firm to your firm portal, you can do so by emailing firmbilling@cisi.org including the full name, CISI customer / membership number, and the firm address they are based. The team will action the request as soon as possible and confirm when done.
CFP
Members who hold CFP certification are required to renew annually. This is done in conjunction with your annual membership subscription which is due by the 1st April each year. The fee for renewing will be included with your membership subscription fee. When renewing / paying for your membership you will be prompted to submit your annual CFP declaration at the same time.
To apply for a cross border transfer of your CFP™ Certification from another country to the UK, you will be required to pass an RDR-compliant qualification for FCA Activities 4 and 6, if with the CISI this would be our Level 4 Investment Advice Diploma (when obtaining the CISI Level 4 Investment Advice Diploma (IAD), one of the examinations will need to be the ‘Financial Planning and Advice’. Following qualification, we shall require a copy of your current CFP certification which we will check with the issuing FPSB affiliate body for them to confirm the below:
  • Date of initial CFP certification
  • Confirmation applicant is or was a CFP holder
  • Pathway to the CFP Certification Examination (registered education program, transcript review or challenge status) and confirmation that the candidate passed the CFP Certification Examination in the home territory
  • Membership identification number
  • Disciplinary history with the FPSB Member in the home territory
  • Disciplinary history with the FPSB Member in the home territory
  • Details of any complaints with the FPSB Member in the home territory
  • If there is any reason, we should not consider allowing this transfer of the CFP certification to the UK
Once satisfied that the information received meets the criteria, applicants will then be required to join the CISI as a Full member (MCSI) if not already, please click here for the appropriate application. Additionally, you will then be required to complete the application form for your UK CFP certification, further information on applying can be found here
To achieve the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification you would need to meet the following criteria:
  1. Pass the CISI Level 7 Diploma in Advanced Financial Planning
  2. Hold the full CISI membership (MCSI) grade or above (please click here to complete the membership application form)
  3. Meet the experience requirements as detailed in the CFP application form
  4. Meet the CPD requirement (completed 35 hours of relevant CPD in the last 12 months and provide written evidence of your CPD upon by application)

New Membership & Upgrades

For existing CISI members who have not taken our qualifications, please view our approved lists of qualifications / membership from other professional bodies, for full membership (MCSI) click here, for associate membership (ACSI) click here .From these lists you can see if you hold an approved qualification / membership of a body that enables you to apply for an upgrade to your current level of membership.

CWM
The CISI no longer send out hard-copy certificates for the CWM title. This will now be accessible via your MyCISI portal.
The following criteria would need to be met for members interested in applying for the Chartered Wealth Manager title:
  • hold the CISI Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification (formerly known as the CISI Masters in Wealth Management) OR hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification (CFPTM) in the UK
  • be a Chartered Fellow or Chartered Member of the CISI
  • have a pass in the CISI IntegrityMatters
  • have met the 35 hour CPD requirement on the CISI CPD Scheme or CISI Firm Accredited Scheme

SPS
The CISI is recognised by the UK’s FCA as an accredited body for the issuing of Statements of Professional Standing.

To apply for an SPS individuals must be a Retail investment adviser as defined by the FCA and meet the requirements listed here, before submitting your Manual SPS Application Form.

  • To renew your SPS after a career break/gardening leave: Ensure that you are a Retail investment adviser as defined by the FCA and meet the requirements listed here, before submitting your Manual SPS Application Form as a renewal.
  • To renew your SPS from another awarding body to CISI: Ensure that you meet the requirements listed here, before submitting your Manual SPS Application Form as a renewal.
  • To renew your CISI SPS certificate: Click Renew Online Now here to complete and submit your online renewal application form.
