Aston University has signed an Agreement with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) which recognises the University as a Centre of Excellence in the field of financial markets.
The Agreement allows the University to:
- Submit its Masters programmes to be considered for equivalence in respect of the CISI Diploma;
- To be accredited for the delivery of courses leading to CISI examinations and to use other CISI accredited training providers for selected papers if needed.
The Aston University MSc in Investment Risk and Finance graduates will be eligible for full Membership (MCSI) of CISI.
The partnership between a Chartered Institute and a higher education institution is seen as an excellent opportunity for students to bridge the gap between academia and the work place.
Ruth Martin, Managing Director of the CISI said: “We are delighted to be working with Aston University which clearly recognises that professional accreditation leading to full membership of a leading professional body, the CISI, can ensure students gain a competitive edge in the jobs market when combined with a high relevant Masters degree.”
Professor Jim Steeley, Professor of Finance at Aston University said: “We’re delighted to have received this status, after a rigorous assessment process. This partnership will allow our students to gain a professional qualification alongside their degrees, and drive stronger links between the University and businesses.”
