Are You Entrepreneurial?

Is it time to refocus on what you do best? Is it time to let some good ideas go so you can be great at your core idea or service?

Tips From The Coalface, July 2018

According to Google Dictionary, an entrepreneur is “a person who sets up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in the hope of profit.”

If you run your own Financial Planning business that includes you.

All entrepreneurs have a visionary side that allows them to see opportunities and things they could do better than the existing players. It’s probably why you started your own firm; to do things right.

However, the most successful entrepreneurs are disciplined. They know how to say ‘no’ to others and to themselves. As Steve Jobs said, “Innovation is saying no to a thousand things.”

If you are an ideas person there’s a danger that, left unfiltered, you’ll simply chase new shiny things. That can leave the people on your team confused and worn out, as the business tries to adjust to each new change of direction.

The great Financial Planning firms have focus, as well as one eye on new trends and ideas. They’ve learnt that doing the basics well is one of the most innovative things any business can do.

Is it time to refocus on what you do best? Is it time to let some good ideas go so you can be great at your core idea or service?

That’s entrepreneurial.
