Tips From The Coalface August 2019
It’s far easier to rattle off a long list of things you wished were better in your business, than to list all the things that are going great. Our brains are hard-wired to focus on what’s not right, as opposed to what is.
What if I told you that everything is in fact alright. Better than alright. Maybe even great.
● You’re here and still in business (many others are not)
● Your clients love you and value your advice and support
● You make a decent income (even if you think it should be higher)
In our role teaching others, for example as parents or with our younger staff members, we know that people learn best when they feel safe. Yelling and screaming and carrying on doesn’t usually put people into that ‘feeling safe’ place. Helping people see what they’re doing well gives them the confidence to keep trying and to improve.
If it works so well for others, why can’t we do it for ourselves?
Take some time over the quieter summer period to reflect on what you’ve done well, and what’s going well in your business.
Now you’re in a place where you can continue on your journey, learning and improving step by step.
Everything’s alright. Really it is.
