AIC launches online training on investment trusts (structured CPD available)

By Lora Benson | Nov 02, 2017
The AIC has launched interactive online courses on investment trusts which are endorsed by the CISI and provide structured CPD.
The AIC has launched a new online training service on investment companies (investment trusts) called Learning Zone.

Learning Zone currently offers four interactive courses. Each one takes about 45 minutes and automatically generates a CPD certificate on successful completion. The training counts as structured CPD and is accredited by the CII, CISI and PFS.

The four courses are as follows:

• An to investment companies (AIC100). A useful course for those new to investment companies, or those who need a refresher.

• Discounts and premiums (AIC110). This course takes a detailed look at discounts and premiums, why they arise and what factors influence them, as well as assessing the implications for the investor.

• Gearing (AIC120). Examining the maths behind gearing, the terms you need to know, and how to consider gearing in the context of client suitability.

• The income features of investment companies (AIC130). Covers all you need to know about using investment companies for income, from the revenue reserve to alternative income-producing assets.

More courses will be added over time.

There are no charges and no ongoing commitment. The courses can be taken in any order, and you can take as few or as many as you like.

To get started, you will need to be registered as a Financial Adviser on the AIC’s website. If you are not already registered, it will take only a minute or so to set up an account.

Once registered and logged in, visit Learning Zone and enrol on your chosen course.
