The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) is delighted to announce the appointment of a new President for its Birmingham committee.

Mark Rogers ACSI is Wealth Planner at Succession Wealth, which acquired Mark’s financial planning company, Clay Rogers & Partners Ltd, in September 2016.

Mark (on the left in the photo) has worked for 37 years in the financial services profession and he has been involved in the CISI Birmingham West Midlands Branch Committee having previously been Chair of the Birmingham Institute of Financial Planning Branch. He is also Chair of Succession Giving which is the National Charitable Arm of Succession Wealth, aiming to raise monies for Succession’s various Charities. Succession has 600 employees within the UK.

Mark said: “I am honoured to be taking up the role from Andrew Porter who will be a very hard act to follow.  Andrew has been a shining light in getting the Committee to work with local schools, colleges and firms with a view to ensuring that local young people have the opportunities and the correctly designed education and career paths to get into and succeed in Financial Services.  Andrew’s work on the Education Committee has been second to none.

“My aim is to continue this work and also to extend the voice of Financial Planners throughout the region as I believe it is important for all Financial Services professionals, including Investment Managers, Wealth Planners and Financial Planners to work together as we are all mutually independent.  The launch of the Birmingham Young Professionals Networking Community will form part of this overall strategy.”

Jim Winter, CISI Head of UK Business Development said: “We are extremely pleased to welcome Mark as President of our Birmingham committee, which has gone from strength to strength with almost1,150 members. We look forward to supporting Mark during 2019. Forthcoming CISI Birmingham CPD events include 21 March DB Pension Transfers: An update from the FCA and 30 April Mental Health Awareness in the Workplace. In addition we have the branch annual dinner this year at the Clayton Hotel, Birmingham on 6 June.”
